Pornography addiction neurologically different from substance addiction
A new study has found that pornography addiction doesn’t look like other addictions. A certain type of brain activity called a late positive potential (LPP), increases when a substance user is shown an image of their drug of choice. However, when a self-reported porn addict is shown a sexually explicit image, the LPP is lower, rather than higher.
