Obama visits National Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit
President Obama visited Atlanta today to speak at the fifth annual National Rx Drug Abuse 7 Heroin Summit. This trip follow’s Obama’s visit to West Virginia last year where he announced several new public and private sector actions to address the emerging opiate abuse problem facing the nation.
Today’s meeting is the largest national collaboration of local, state, and federal professionals seeking to address not only the heroin crisis, but prescription pain medicine abuse. This meeting runs for 3 days with over 1,600 people in attendance. Click here for more information.
