How does Spice – synthetic cannabis damage the brain (INFOGRAPHIC)
Known as “K2”, “spice”, and a number of other names, synthetic cannabis is marketed as a “legal high.” It lives in a legal gray area. The DEA can classify a compound as illegal, but manufacturers of spice can slightly alter the molecules. The side effects of spice include, but are far from limited to:
amnesia
confusion
delusional thinking
depression
detachment from reality
extreme distrust in people
hallucinations
intense fear
paranoia
psychotic episodes
sensory disturbances
suicidal and homicidal thoughts and actions
unconsciousness
violent bursts
Because of the wide, unknowable range of materials used to make spice, the full effect on the brain can’t be measured. View full article here.
