Ohio Sues Major Drug Companies For Misrepresentation Regarding Opioid Risks
Ohio has filed a lawsuit against five major drug companies for misrepresenting risks related to opioid addiction. According to Reuters, the five companies named in the lawsuit were Purdue Pharma LP, Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc unit, a unit of Endo International Plc, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd’s Cephalon unit and Allergan Plc. Amidst the rising number of opioid addiction and overdoses across the country, many state and local officials are looking for ways to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for any misleading marketing that may have understated addiction risks leading to the current opioid crisis.
