According to a new study cited by ScienceDaily , pain patients might be able to reduce opioid use successfully by using psychological tools. A two year study conducted at Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network found that at-risk chronic pain patients were more successful in reducing opioid use and improving their mood if they received psychological services in addition to regular treatment.
