A very good question. Alcohol was my drug of choice and it is also poison. And people have indirectly died from drinking too much alcohol e.g. Cirrhosis of the liver, enlarged heart, to name but a few. But alcohol is a legal drug. So where do we draw the line? And it could be debated for ever and a day.
I would rather see the time and energy spent on tackling what I believe the cause of addiction to be – trauma.
